Woltz International Pictures
Paramount Studios — Hollywood, Los Angeles
On screen
Tom Hagen, the family’s lawyer and consigliere, flies to Hollywood to ask studio boss Jack Woltz to give the singer Johnny Fontane, the Don’s godson, the part he dreams of. Woltz shouts, swears and refuses, but once he realises who sent Hagen, he invites him to dinner at his estate.
The place today
Paramount is the last major studio still operating in Hollywood itself. According to movie-locations, Hagen arrives at the lot’s humbler Gower Street entrance, not the famous Melrose Gate. The studio is busy, and a paid guided tour takes you among the sound stages and backlot streets; book ahead.
