On screen

In a field in the hills, Michael sees a group of village girls, Apollonia among them. He freezes, and his bodyguards laugh: he has been hit by the thunderbolt, il colpo di fulmine, love at first sight. Fabrizio warns him, grinning, that in Sicily women are more dangerous than shotguns.

The place today

We found no reliable source that pins down the exact field. The Sicilian chapter was shot in the hills around these two villages, and fans say a bridge shows in the background. Whoever finds it solves the trilogy’s great location riddle. The link points to the approximate area.
