Michael wanders the villages and paths with his bodyguards, learning the land his family came from. According to Italy’s official film-location portal and Italian travel sites, some of these walks were shot in the lanes of Motta Camastra.
The place today
A village hanging off a cliff above the Alcantara valley. A few minutes away is the Gole dell’Alcantara, a spectacular basalt canyon where you can wade in the icy river. It makes for a perfect Godfather-and-nature day.
