Louis’ Restaurant — The Bronx, New York
In the New York guidePlan a day here
On screen
Michael meets Sollozzo and Captain McCluskey, the corrupt cop who broke his jaw, at a small Italian restaurant in the Bronx. Halfway through he asks to use the bathroom, finds the gun Clemenza hid behind the cistern, returns to the table, hesitates for a long moment and shoots them both. Then, as he was taught, he drops the gun and walks out.
The place today
3531 White Plains Road, under the elevated tracks in the Bronx. The restaurant is long gone: according to Scouting NY and movie-locations, a fabric shop later took over the space, and the pressed-tin ceiling survived. Sources disagree on whether it was the old “Luna” restaurant. It is a private business, so photograph from outside.
