The Waldorf Astoria — Park Avenue, Manhattan
In the New York guidePlan a day here
On screen
The family’s lawyer, Harrison, calls on Archbishop Gilday to push the deal forward. According to movie-locations, the churchman is staying “modestly” at none other than the Waldorf Astoria, one of New York’s grandest hotels.
The place today
Park Avenue’s famous Art Deco hotel, from 1931. It closed in 2017 for a huge renovation, with part of the building turned into apartments, and reopened in 2025 with fewer than 400 rooms instead of more than 1,400. The restored lobby, with its famous gilded clock, is worth a look.
