The flying car takes off
St Pancras, the Gothic front — St Pancras, London
In the London guidePlan a day here
On screen
The way to the platform is sealed and the train leaves without Harry and Ron. They take Mr Weasley’s flying Ford Anglia, lift off outside the station and fly over London after the train.
The place today
The 1860s–70s Victorian building is now a hotel above the Eurostar terminus. You can admire the front free from Euston Road; King’s Cross is a few minutes’ walk away.
Did you know? The “King’s Cross” exterior is really its neighbour, St Pancras: King’s Cross isn’t the most glamorous of buildings, and St Pancras’s Gothic front looks far grander on screen.
